To all EMS Agencies,

Independence Health System has been reviewing ways to increase the safety and security of our employees, patients, and visitors. One of the changes occurring this week will be locks being activated on selected doors. In the Emergency Department this will include the hallway from 2 North into the TRIAGE area as well as the door located between the waiting room and the 2 North Hallway.

Most services have been supplied with a photo ID assigned to all of their vehicles. It is recommended that each crew carry that card while on duty to reduce any potential delay in gaining access to areas in the department. Those who do not have an Independence Health System Photo ID will need to call Security on the phone located on the wall next to the door that needs to be unlocked.

Re:   Securing Laundry/Annex Building  

Keypad locks have been installed on the Laundry/Annex Building at Butler Hospital. To gain entrance through the door normally used for the Prehospital Room and the bathrooms enter the code 911.  

Please do not share this number with anyone other than employees/members of your organization. If the code changes at any time, a memo will be sent notifying agencies of the update.
